The New Maison at Bond Street

On May 28, 2010, the new flagship store of Louis Vuitton in Bond Street, London opens its doors to an awaiting public. Designed by New York architect Peter Marino, the ground floor will be devoted to accessories as the artwork of Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince watch vigilantly. Glass stairs will lead you to the lower ground floor that plays host to LV's male clientele in some sort of men's club as their significant others flex their plastics on the first floor of womenswear and shoes. Unique to this Maison is a Librairie that will house Britain's contemporary art literatura. And finally, an exclusive second étage that is for by-invitation-only customers. Spy pics please, Londoners! Original Louis Vuitton Classic 2004 poster by Razzia

Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami's Cosmic Blossom Collection

Making waves this Summer is the latest in the LV-Murakami Saga ~ The Cosmic Blossom Collection. Designed to be a no frills line, this will surely beat the heat in style. The collection comprises of the Cosmic Tote in PM and GM. Priced at around $1200 and $1500, respectively, the pieces reflect the vibe of the Tahitienne and Ipanema of seasons past. Of course, for those that find carrying a tote cumbersome, a pochette that has a relatively reasonable price of $550 is also being released. In this photo, you can actually see the creative chaos of the Murakami flowers. Toss in a few accesories and textiles and voila!, a collection is born. Unfortunately, according to ILVOELV the cell phone charm is being scrapped from the collection. Licensing or quality issues were rumoured to be the culprits. Too bad because those happy charms are really cute. Slated to be released sometime in late April to early May.

Guess what I got to hold today???!!!

Brought in especially for an in store event, this wonderful Crocodile Lockit was a gem amidst the new collections. But first, lemme share a few snapshots. The first thing we saw was the Monogram Underground Duffle prominently displayed on a shelf on it's own. It's interesting to LVook at, but I highly doubt its functionality. Another piece that was brought out was the Gypsy PM from the Monogram Cheche Collection. Arjay commented that it's quite cavernous so yet again, functionality was lacking. They were meant to be show pieces in my honest opinion. I saw a couple of Fancy Jewelry and a toggle style bracelet caught my eye. Sadly, it's not on the website yet so I don't know the official name but it was gold colored with the Monogram Flower studded in pink stones as the centerpiece. For the finale, the exotics were brought out of their cages: an Ostrich Lockit GM in white and the Crocodile PM. Price of the Croc ~ $20,200!!! Wowzah!!! Obviously, Aris was not interested but the reptile was lined in chevre and crafted impeccably. The photo does not do justice to the deep, rich flesh colour that it truly was. It's an understatement to say that it was pricey. But I LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it though!!!

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2010 2011 Previews

Are autumn leaves starting to fall? We haven't even enjoyed spring yet! Well, according to Candy Pratts Price of style.com, it's never too early to check and see what's in store for us for the coming season. LVoe it!!! Feast your eyes on the Monogram Flocage Speedy. Flocking is the process of depositing minute fiber particles (called flock) onto a surface. It provides texture to an item such as the flocked white artificial trees during Christmas. This enriches the surface as can be seen on the beLVoed Speedy above. I can see some sequins here and there too. Dubbed, the Damier Chubby Bag, this exotic beauty is peppered with sequins (again) accentuating the reptilian skin. Sigh...a Neo Speedy...so classic! The leather is called Waxy so expect a delightful buttery feel. Cuir Grainé - another classic, elegant shape that is understated and is fast becoming my favourite. These lunettes may or may not protect you from the sun's harmful rays, but style was definitely the order of the day for this tortoiseshell baby. Hmmm...I am not so wild about the Vuitton fur lately. Lastly, are the Beauty Pumps...ladies...please write in...
