Louis Vuitton W Bag Collection

Everybody needs a great tote and I am excited about the Louis Vuitton W Collection that is slated to be released this July 2013. With its sleek lines crafted out of materials that LV is known for, I am enjoying the subtle V shape that the handles form as it is stitched to the body of the bag. Also, the photos show a shoulder strap attachment ring, something that I didn't notice from the modeling shots.  Another bag to add to the watch list but so far I am in LVoe with the Monogram Canvas one in black colourway.

Louis Vuitton Parnasséa Collection

OMG, leathers that Hermès is famous for is now being used in the Louis Vuitton Parnasséa Collection. Box and Taurillon are skins that have long been coveted by bag aficionados.  Chosen for their suppleness and interesting grain, the Icons: Alma and SC Bag and the new designs: Capucines and Vivienne excite me as I review these photos.

My favourite thus far is the Capucines.  I LVoe the placement of the initials. Now, the only issue is the price point of these beauties.  Slated to be released this July 2013, I can't wait to see them in real life.

Louis Vuitton Zéphyr Four-Wheel Trolley

The first branded thermo compressed canvas luggage, the  Zéphyr combines the durability and resistance to scratches of the Monogram canvas with a rigidity and elasticity that gives it great shock absorption.  Tested to last at least 10 years with one trip per week or up to 40 years with one trip per month, its fiberglass frame protects the contents within and provides comfort in opening the luggage.
It comes in two sizes 55 (9.4" x22"14.6") and 70 (17.7x29.9x11.4) and priced at $3450 and $4250, respectively.
The four wheel luggage is not a new thing but the innovations that Vuitton has imbued it with makes it an attractive purchase.  I would be afraid to carry the 70 because it would have to be checked luggage and would have the constant fear that it would get stolen from the conveyor belt at the airport.

Louis Vuitton Speedy Retrospective

Last night marked a rare occasion for me.  Not only did my local boutique host a "Speedy Retrospective" highlighting some of the Icon's many incarnations, but my good ol' LV pal, Jerome decided to step out of his orange box to join me in this night of free flowing champagne and open house for patrons.

The exhibit was quite small and I had seen most of these bags when they first came out, but what delighted me most was the photo booth set up for the guests.  Basically, you can have any bag, jewelry or accessory on the shelves and be photographed with them.  I wanted an editorial shot so I grabbed three Speedy Cubes and hid among them. LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Soffi

I see a lot of designer bags out there with the convenience of having the triple option of shoulder, handheld and cross-body but not says super, summer, chic than the Soffi in Damier Azur. The three-part red dyed handle is a distinguishing feature of this bag that speaks of the artisanal work that the atelier of Louis Vuitton can produce even in their core collection line. Measuring 3.9" x 13" x 13.4", it is priced at $1780 from www.louisvuitton.com.

A Weekend in Baltimore and Philadelphia

Seldom do I appreciate the sights and history of the country that has adopted me as one of its own, so when Patricia and her sisters Milly and Andrea came for a visit from Manila; Baltimore and Philadelphia were two historic cities that were top on our list. (after Washington, D.C. of course).
Only a day after seeing the original flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem "Star Spangled Banner" at the Smithsonian, did we happen to find the actual house where it was sewn.
The Nation's First Cathedral was a mandatory stop for any good Filipino Catholic.

Baltimore's Harbor boasts a slew of Historic ships. Here we are in front of the USS Torsk.
The following Sunday, we drove up to Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell...
and Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence
and the United States Constitution were  debated and adopted.

Lastly, Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love and a stop at Robert Indiana's sculpture is a must! LVoe it!!!
